How the score works

For every hour of the year we check the feels-like temperature in both sun and shade. If either one lands in your comfortable range, and it is not raining or gusting past your limits, that hour counts as enjoyable. A city's score is simply the share of your active hours that pass. Move any slider and every city re-ranks instantly.

Comfortable feels-like range

The feels-like range you would call pleasant. An hour counts as comfortable if standing in either sun or shade lands inside this band.

Rain tolerance

A comfortable hour wetter than this no longer counts as enjoyable.

Wind-gust tolerance

A comfortable hour gustier than this no longer counts as enjoyable.

Active hours (local)

Only hours in this window are scored, so cold pre-dawn hours never count against a city.
